Matthew & Megan Cox: An Elegant Fall Wedding at Metamora Fields
I have known Megan, the bride, for over 15 years! We met in 2nd grade when I moved to Illinois with my family for a short time and have kept in touch ever since. I was Honored and so excited when she asked me to come back and photograph her wedding for her and her fiancé Matt. This was the first wedding I’ve done outside of Indiana, so it was kind of cool taking a mini road trip for the weekend to do this for her! Plus, my husband got to tag along at this wedding, he was basically just my chauffeur and bag carrier for the day, but it was actually a HUGE help to me and fun having him around.
I started the day meeting Megan and her 7 bridesmaids, niece and step mother at Alter Ego Salon in Peoria, IL. After getting some shots of them hanging out and getting hair and makeup done, I then headed to the venue, Metamora Fields Golf Club. The venue was absolutely beautiful. It had an elegant, luxurious feel to it. The decor and floral was so beautifully designed, everything was so well presented and the outside grounds of the venue were just breathtaking! The ceremony was held outdoors, while it was a chilly October day all of the guests did not seem to mind a bit, they bundled up in jackets and blankets and were more than happy to be a little chilly while watching these two share their vows! I think we all teared up a little when watching Matt’s expressions when seeing his bride, Megan, for the first time gracefully floating down the aisle to him. I don’t blame the guy, Megan was absolutely stunning and I’m sure she exceeded Matt’s vision of his “dream bride”!
The reception was filled with lots of good company, food, laughs, tears, dancing, yummy wedding cake and memories to last a lifetime! I had so much fun being Megan and Matt’s wedding photographer and cannot wait to let them relive their special day over and over again through these photos. It was so hard selecting the photos I wanted to share for this blog, so many beautiful shots and moments captured, enjoy some of my absolute favorites from the story of their day!
